Cleaning your house doesn’t have to be expensive. A number of things we have in our homes serve double or triple purposes. This is a list of 10 household cleaning hacks I find very useful and they are inexpensive.
- An all purpose cleaner
You don’t have to spend so much on different products to clean your home, you can make an all-purpose cleaner that you can use to clean all surfaces in your home. Just combine four tablespoons of baking soda and four cups of warm water. Pour the mixture into an old spray bottle and clean away.
- Smelly shoes solution
If your sneakers are oozing out a bad odour, sprinkle a bit of baking soda in it. Just remember to pour out the baking soda from your shoes before you wear them.
- Dirty sneakers.
If your sneakers are dirty, you can get them to look brand new with toothpaste. Just scrub them with toothpaste.
- Shiny windows.
You can use white vinegar and water to shine your windows. Just get 2 tablespoons of white vinegar with a gallon of water. Mix both together and pour into a used spray bottle.
- Microwave cleaning
To clean the interior of your microwave, you just need water and lemon. Heat a cup of water and chopped lemon in the microwave on high till the microwave windows are steamy. Put off the microwave and wait for 15 minutes before you open and clean it. This will also help your microwave smell nice.
- Shinny faucets
To keep your faucets shiny, clean them with toothpaste and a wet sponge.
- Coffee stains
To get rid of the stubborn coffee stains on your surface or mugs, use toothpaste to clean the stains.
- Shiny tiles
To keep your floor tiles shiny, use baking soda to clean them. Pour half a cup of baking soda into 2 gallons of water. Use the mixture to mop or scrub your floors.
- Clean cutting boards.
To keep your cutting boards clean, use lemon and salt to clean it. Cut the lemon into two halves. Pour a bit of salt on the surface of the lemon and clean your board with it.
You can kill those annoying insects in your house with vodka. Because of the high alcohol content in vodka, it makes it a very potent insect killer. Just pour a little in a spray bottle and the insects will be on their drunken way.
